 Who is a teacher? Do you consider yourself, a teacher and others, your students? If yes, then you are not a teacher. Have you learnt enough to be a teacher? Agoh: A Tradition Disappeared in Mithila

  Today , we shall discuss a tradition that has disappeared in Mithila .                                                                               Currently, more people cultivate by tractor than those who cultivate by plowing. Earlier, it was the tradition of the oxen to plow. After loads of paddy were brought from the field, it was piled up in one place. A hole was dug in the middle of the courtyard. The bamboo was worshiped and buried into the pit. The bamboo pillar was called ' Meh '. After the Meh was well buried, the paddy was spread well around it. A kind of rope was tied to the Meh, which was called ' karam '. After that, many oxen were tied in karam and rolled on paddy. My Idol: Dhirendra Premarshi

  Dhirendra Premarshi was born on Bhadra 3, 2024 B.S. in Govindapur-Bastipur of Siraha district. His father's name is Krishnalal Jha and mother's name is Aanandi Devi Jha. Rich in multifaceted talents, he has made commendable contributions by writing in his mother tongue Maithili as well as the national language Nepali. Premarshi is a Nepali songwriter, journalist, and cultural expert who mostly works on Maithili language and culture. He was, most notably, awarded the Atal Mithila Samman 2019 in New Delhi, India, by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, in recognition of his prominent contribution to Maithili literature, music and media for decades. He has been awarded Bhanu Padak Navrang Samman (2064), Mithila Ratna (2006), Mithila Dutt (2067), Atal Mithila Samman (2019) as well as Salahesh Samman, Mati Ki Gandha Katha Samman etc. He has written and edited Maithili language text books as well as children's reference books.
